Starting July 1, 2020, a person driving in Indiana may not hold or use a telecommunications device while operating a moving vehicle. The two exceptions to this are that a telecommunications device may be used in conjunction with hands free or voice operated technology, and a telecommunications device may be used or held to call 911 to report a bona fide emergency.

To coincide with the enactment of this law, employers may be well served to implement mirroring policies for any employees who may be required to operate a moving vehicle for work.
